This week we’re on summer holiday visiting my in laws. We arrived last Saturday and it was nice to hug the kids again after they had been here for one week already. On Sunday we went on a day trip to the town of Ålesund, which is in the same county as where we’re staying (Møre & Romsdal county, north-western part of Norway), but further south along the coast. The larger Ålesund area (the municipal administration area) has about 45 000 inhabitants. It’s one of the most important fishing harbors in Norway, and is very famous for its extensive Art Nouveau architecture, that was established after a great fire in 1904. Here are some of my shots from our stroll through the city centre, along the canal and by the marina.
