On the travel blog today: Perugia 🙂

Out and about with Inga

During our summer holiday we had a short day trip to Perugia, which was only about one hour drive from where we stayed in San Gemini.  A wonderful city that I would like to see more of another time, and hopefully some day when it´s not as hot as 40 degrees… 😉

Perugia is the capital city of the region of Umbria.

along Corso VanucciLife along the main street, Corso Vanucci. It is a broad avenue with lots of shops, cafés and restaurants. Most cafés and restaurants have tables outside, and some in the middle of the street.

Corso Vanucci

building corso vanucci cropI just love those italian buildings.

Palazzo dei PrioriThis is Palazzo dei Priori (Town Hall). It was built in the early 13th century and is in Italian Gothic Style (thanks Wikipedia.) It houses among other things the National Gallery of Umbria. We visited the gallery and it was a great one with very interesting religious art.
