Flowers

We bought balcony boxes for the veranda and lots of flowers for both the veranda and for some urns we already had yesterday. We arranged everything in the beautiful weather we had. Here are some shots of what now feels a bit like summer.

I guess this now can be called a series. So this is my new post in the series “A look back at some old photos”. Previously I have posted “Some old spring photos” and “A foggy day at the cemetery“. The following photos have no connection except for the fact that these are all photos that I’m happy with myself. I hope you like them too. Enjoy.

Some old spring photos

While I wait for spring to arrive with its photo opportunities, I decided to share a few old spring photos with you all. These are shots that I have previously publised on my Flickr account. (I think I mentioned before that I’m not very active on Flickr these days, as blogging is much more fun )

Stormy weather

Yesterday we had the worst weather. It had been windy for a few days and with temperatures above zero, the snow was melting. For some that would be a good thing, but even though it´s March now, I would like to skiing a bit more before spring. And spring never arrives in March where I live anyways, not properly.

So yesterday we had very strong wind, with the strength of a storm every now and then. It was stormy throughout the day, and with snow and rain. Definitely a day to stay indoors. Actually the police adviced people to secure their belongings outside and otherwise stay at home.

With all these grey photos, I just wanted to brighten up my day, and this post, with a purple drop…

 

Tulips and orchids

Here are a few flower shots. The first few are taken in the window in the daylight, but the others are taken using flash in the evening.

Today was also my youngest son´s first birthday. Of course we celebrated with cake. His first taste of chocolate cake and he definitely enjoyed it.

My mum has Erica (very much like Common Heather) on the front porch. It´s nice both in the autumn and in the winter.

A last minute thing again. Those weekends are hectic, but fun, and sometimes I just have to take a photo of an orchid. I am quite happy with the result.

311/366 The texture of a leather bag

Today´s texture is from my fabulous, purple leather bag from Furla. This is a bag that my husband bought me while he was in Portugal last August for work. A great gift, and now that I´m back at work I use it every day.

We have bought some plastic cups and bowls for our son’s playhouse, and I found them great subjects for the colorful theme of the week.
