121/366 A baby’s hand

Monday means news week and a new theme. The theme for this week is “Spring”. And as you can see, there is not much spring about this shot. I really wasn’t able to take my camera out today. Just one of those day. Not a bad day at all, just busy I guess. But I do enjoy staying at home with my baby who is now 9 weeks old. So I took a photo of his hand after he fell asleep on my lap. It’s cute, isn’t it? I used a really high ISO in this one. ISO 2000. Just to see how much grain there would be, and also sometimes I think grain make for a nice effect. What do you think about using high ISO?

And one more thing: I’m thinking of making a new blog. A travel blog. Not that I travel that much. At least not abroad, but usually I get to make a trip abroad once a year. The main reason for thinking about this is the big trip that we’re going on in June. Driving through Europe – well at least stops in Germany, Austria and Italy. So I’m thinking about having a blog for that trip, and then I thought I might just publish pics from other trips too – previous trips and trips to come both in Norway and abroad. Please tell me if you think that is a good idea and if you would follow such a blog? I don’t know if I have the time to do this though, but I find myself thinking about it more and more… :)

117/366 Growing love

Today I have just a snapshot of my tv screen to share with you. But it’s a snapshot filled with love. Last week the trial after the terror attacks in Oslo and at Utøya last  summer started. One terrorist bombed the government buildings in Oslo and shot and killed almost 70 young people at a youth party camp at the small island Utøya. In total 77 persons died July 22 2011. A few days after the attack hundreds of thousands of people in Oslo and all over Norway came together to show that love and roses  can conquer hate. Last week the terrorist mentioned a particular song that he means is an example of what he calls “marxist brain washing of children in Norway”. That song is “Barn av regnbuen” – a Norwgian version of Pete Seeger’s “My Rainbow Race”. The Norwegian lyrics is by Lillebjørn Nilsen, and it’s a well-known children’s song.

Today people again took to the street with roses and love. Two women startet a campaign on Facebook, wanting people to come together and sing this song. 4000 said they would like to come. Today more than 40 000 people gathered to sing this song together, lead by Lillebjørn Nilsen who also came with greetings from Pete Seeger. Afterwards they all went together to the court house to place their roses there. Also in other cities and towns all over the country people gathered to sing this song together.

Growing cress in the kitchen window. To me cress is a real sign of spring. In Norway it is something that most sow in kindergarten and elementary school around Easter time. My son bought it home for Easter and it has been growing ever since then. :)

114/366 Growing blue beauty

As you may have understood from my posts, spring has not come very far in the region where I live. It’s a bit sad really, but at least every now and then we have some really beautiful sunny days. I hope we can finally get some warm days too when May arrives in a week.

Mondays means new theme. This week’s theme is “Growth”. This lovely blue flowers are growing right outside our apartment building. I unfortunately don’t know the name of this, so if anybody out there knows, please tell me.

112/366 Colorful height measurer

Another shot taken at the end of the day and just as a simple solution. It’s a fun thing though. It’s the height measurer in my son’s bedroom. He still has a bit to go before he reaches 100 cm… ;) So nothing clever or fancy about this photo. It’s more about not missing one day of my project and to stay within the theme of the week.
