Not a theme shot today as I was alone with the kids today too. In addition the weather was cold and bad, but we did went outside to the playground for a while. As my readers know, I love purple, and I shot this lovely spanish marguerite on my way back inside. It was almost drowning in rain water, poor thing. Taken with my Android phone and edited with Instagram.
Yesterday was the 17th of May and Norway’s National Day, or Constitution Day. The constitution of Norway was signed at Eidsvoll on the 17th of May in 1814. It declared Norway to be an independent nation, and marked the end of Danish rule over Norway. Norway then ended up in a union with Sweden, and only got it’s real independence in 1905. My picture from yesterday is taken out from the car with the phone, and edited with Instagram. We spent some hours driving to my in-laws and had to stop now and then waiting for the children’s and citizen’s parade. In Norway the National Day is mostly a day for children who can eat all the hot dogs and ice cream they want on this day. I’m not sure many wanted ice creams yesterday, since it was pouring down the entire day. At least in the region we drove through. This parade passed us in Oppdal, a mountain town south in the Trøndelag county.

In the week leading up to the 17th of May (as mentioned in the previous post: Norway’s Constitution Day) there’s lots of stuff sold in everything for interior decorating stores, book shops, flower shops, grocery stores etc. All in the colors of red, white and blue. Flags, whistles, napkins, candles, flower bouquets and so on. This is taken with my new android phone.
First of all: sorry for posting another snapshot from the phone, but we were driving souhtwards to my Mom’s today. It’s close to a 7 hours drive, so it takes most of the day. I therefore wasn’t able to take proper photo to fit the theme this week. The shot is taken from the car, as you may have noticed already.
This week’s theme is going to be “The four elements”, which will be interesting… 
There is small shopping center close to home and I went there today trying to do some street shots. I only brought my phone as it isn’t as easy to do candid shots with a big camera in a small place. I noticed this old lady in the corner after several attempts and I liked the way it turned out. Hope you like it too.
This is actually not a proper street photography, as I have taken a photo of my son on the way home from kindergarten. But I think it has the feel of street photography. To my defense the rain was pouring down today and the baby was sleeping for hours so I wasn’t able to go for a long walk or downtown to see if I could practice on this week’s theme. Hopefully I can get downtown tomorrow.
And yes, I have used my Android phone for this one too.
New week and a new theme. This week I will make an attempt at street photography. This would be a bit challenging for me, especially since I’m dependent on the baby and if I can actually make it out, but hopefully it will work out. I also find it difficult photographing people I don’t know, so this would be interesting and important to try out.
My first attempt was not that successful, I think. But I couldn’t get further than to the grocery store today. On my way in I noticed this man going in to the store with an envelope in his hand. I had my Android phone ready and got to capture him on his way in. At our local store there is also a small post office, or rather “post-in-shop” as they call it. Hopefully I can practice more tomorrow.
Monday and the start of a new week. This week’s theme is “Trees”. Because today was quite busy, and the afternoons are still quite dark here, I had to do with a mobile phone shot today. I have used the retro camera app from Android.
This is one of my favorite trees actually. It stands right outside our apartment building, and it’s great to follow how it changes from season to season and in different light.
We’ve had enormous amounts of snow the last week. And now it is raining… Don’t like it, but hopefully it will be better soon. Saturday was a really bleak and cold day. I didn’t care much for taking my camera out, but took this shot with my android phone on the way to the store. I have used the Retro camera app.
