I’m not happy about today’s post for “Numbers” week. But I noticed this on a trip in the woodlands today, and I didn’t want to go outside again to find other numbers to shoot… This sign is for an orienteering post for people hiking in the area. It’s quite alright if you don’t like this photo.
So since I was not satisfied with this, I want to give you all a bonus photo today. It’s a fading liverleaf. (hepatica nobilis). Hope you like it.

I love the colors in the blossom! It’s great.
Thanks, Ted
I understand why you are not so satisfied with the numbers photo, I think the branch before the sign detracts from the whole…
your bonus photo is awesome… love the way you captured this one the sun on the little flower…beautiful!
Thanks, Joanna. I know, that branch was totally wrong, but I’m not that bummed. I mean, during a whole year there ought to be some photos taken in a hurry and not perfect. I’m glad you like the bonus
I know what you mean…sometimes I find it hard to come up with another ‘fantastic’ photo… I do my best but don’t have all that time myself…
right. It’s so great with all the followers and the lovely comments, but it kind of feels like I have to follow up on the great photos. But pressure is good too.
You are amazing dear Inga, I loved this flower… and the colours. Thank you, with my love, nia
Thank you dear Nia, you are so kind
A beautiful flower, but missing parts of it, good shot …
Thanks! Yes, it’s missing some parts. These flowers usually bloom in April and there aren’t many around anymore.
Inga, look beyond the sign…the tree bark is great. It’s tattered look themes well with the spent flower. I like both your photos today.
Thanks so much. I’m glad you like them both.
Love the flower, but the bark on the tree is wonderful! So rich & detailed.
Thank you. I appreciate it
Next time you’re without a theme photo, look around the house. Our houses all have numbers in many different places, I’m sure. There’s 12 different numbers on the clock that probably hangs on your wall…
Also, if you had have shot that sign two steps to the right, the branch may not have been so obtrusive. Good work with the flower photo – those petals are nice and sharp
Thanks, Karl, for reminding me. I actually had an idea about shooting the numbers on the clock. I should do that today.
I was just so tired yesterday and didn’t want to take out that camera again. No excuse really…
thanks for liking the flower photo.
Definitely love the flower! So rich, and that it isn’t “perfect” makes it perfect.
Thanks so much, Carissa
I do like the flower. People are so scared to take photos of bug eaten plants but I like them. They say something about the real world not the perfect world we sometimes (almost always) want to show. Nice one.
A photo a day is a tough task but I think what you are doing is great.
Thank you so much.
I agree, it’s often more interesting with the things that are not perfect.
Oh my gosh, that tree is the weirdest thing I have ever seen!! ICK!! I’ve got goosebumps and heebie jeebies up and down!! (But I guess it’s one memorable post! Good job!)
haha. Thanks
Though we’re understandably attracted to what is fresh and new, things in decline are a part of nature, too, and worthy of attention:
